September through November and January through March offer the lowest fares, with roundtrips from NYC often $600–800. Avoid Diwali (October/November) and the Christmas–New Year period when demand and fares spike.
Middle Eastern carriers (Emirates, Qatar, Etihad) typically offer the lowest fares from the East Coast. Air India's nonstop routes from the West Coast are competitive for direct service. Turkish Airlines via Istanbul is also excellent value.
Nonstop flights from NYC to Delhi take about 15 hours. One-stop routes through Dubai or Doha add 3–5 hours but are often $200–400 cheaper. From the West Coast, expect 16–18 hours nonstop.
